Roger!
Another good show that I can identify with an awful lot of it...
Days getting longer is good for the psyche, My built in microwave died too and I had the same struggle of "repair or replace", and wondering about the place of "eFriends" in my life... but the part that got me laughing out loud (yeah LOL) was the old man voice saying "I remember when the internet was text based..." I hadn't thought about Archie or using FTP to download a file off the 'net in ages... But dude, did you ever write a program with punch cards? That's what I ask the young whippersnappers, ha ha ha... Yeah, I'm a dinosaur.

Good Sir,

I too have been having iPod problems as of late. I have a 60gb photo iPod that I use during exercise as it has one of those sporty cases for wear and tear. Lately I've been getting a variety of icons that tell me it doesn't like me. So for the hell of it, I tried to open it up...and lo and behold, after hours of resetting, it worked.

I then plugged it into a computer with iTunes and sure enough...it started again telling me it didn't like me. So I did what any sane person would do, smack it hard against my knee a few times and try and pry it open. It now works again and has been stable for at least 24 hours. I've not yet plugged it into a computer as the machine is nearly full of music so despite my desire to load more Waylon Jennings on there I can live with the current variety and charge it with a wall charger.

I think the problem nowadays is not just a lack of repairing goods, it's a lack of home do-it-yourself repair kits and more reliance of the "convenience" of someone coming out to fix it at an exorbitant rate.

It takes a lot to get by on not having a microwave for a year, we haven't had a dishwasher for about a year now...
